KODI Media Center is not only for Windows users, but also for Linux, OSX, and Xbox. The XBMC Media Center was created around 2003 by a group of programmers, because XBMC is a non-profit project and was developed by volunteer programmers located throughout the world. Kodi can be run as is to run CDs or DVDs directly from the disk or image file, almost all file formats on the hard disk, even though the file is in a ZIP or RAR file.
