DARFILE.COM – Tribler is a decentralized filesharing application including support for video streaming that is specifically designed to stay online under any circumstances.
Tribler uses the Overlay-Networks network and thus makes this system fully decentralized. Although it still uses the Bittorrent protocol for data transmission, it doesn’t need a Tracker or Torrent file anymore.
This software is designed to keep BitTorrent alive, even when all torrent, index and tracker search engines are made offline. Tribler came from the Netherlands and was developed in 2 universities, Delft Technical University and Amsterdam University.
This Filesharing Software is made with the aim of providing an open foundation that can be accessed by anyone for a Filesharing network that can be used both for personal and business matters. The development carried out at the two universities is funded by the European Union in the framework of the P2P-Next program for the development of integrated Peer-to-Peer techniques.
Tribler is very similar to Transmission, but is officially available for the Windows operating system. This software is a peer-to-peer and decentralized BitTorrent Client which is open source and does not display any advertisements on its homepage. You can use a torrent client to download files, videos, movies, images, freeware software, etc.
The technology has been tested for six years continuously, and has never been offline for even a second. Tribler is based on BitTorrent technology, so it can be used to share normal torrent data uploaded from sites such as BT Junkie and Pirate Bay.
